THE HERALDIC MENAGERIE

The eagle is second in importance only to the lion, and it too has a variety of representations.

An eagle is displayed if its wings and legs are spread and the tail shows between the legs. It can also be with wings inverted and double- headed.

When the feet are on the ground, the eagle is
rising, with wings elevated or displayed.

Small eagles
are "eaglets"

Some animals have a very unique heraldic form.
