Letter from British occupied Corfu by steam ship to Malta. Carries the handstamp of the General Post Office in Corfu Type B and rate (6d) on front, Corfu date stamp (8.5.1840) and arrival/disinfection handstamp of Lazaret, Malta, on Back. The slit was made for disinfection.
